David Crosby - Discografia.

David Van Cortlandt Crosby (Los Angeles, 14 de agosto de 1941 — 18 de janeiro de 2023) foi um guitarrista, cantor, compositor e produtor dos Estados Unidos.[1] Além de sua carreira solo, também foi conhecido por ter sido um dos fundadores das bandas The Byrds, Crosby, Stills & Nash e Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young e CPR.

Crosby se juntou aos The Byrds em 1964. Eles tiveram seu primeiro hit número um em abril de 1965 com um cover de Mr. Tambourine Man do Bob Dylan. Crosby apareceu nos primeiros cinco álbuns da banda e produziu a formação original no álbum de reunião de 1973. Ele posteriormente formou Crosby, Stills & Nash em 1968 com Stephen Stills e Graham Nash.

Após o lançamento de seu álbum de estreia, CSN ganhou o Grammy Award for Best New Artist de 1969. Neil Young se juntou ao grupo para apresentações ao vivo, seu segundo show foi Woodstock, antes de gravar seu segundo álbum Déjà Vu. Pensado para ser um grupo que poderia colaborar livremente, Crosby & Nash gravou três álbuns de ouro na década de 1970, enquanto o trio principal da CSN permaneceu ativo de 1976 até 2016. As reuniões de Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSNY) ocorreram lugar em cada década desde a década de 1970 até a década de 2000.

As canções que Crosby escreveu ou co-escreveu incluem Lady Friend, Everybody's Been Burned, Why e Eight Miles High com o The Byrds e Guinnevere, Wooden Ships, Shadow Captaine e In My Dreams com Crosby, Stills & Nash. Ele escreveu Almost Cut My Hair e a faixa-título Déjà Vu para o álbum de 1970 do CSNY com o mesmo nome. Ele é conhecido por ter empregado afinações alternativas de guitarra e influências do jazz. Crosby foi o receptor de um transplante de fígado, pago por Phil Collins em 1994. A notícia do seu transplante levou a discussões públicas devido ao seu estatuto de celebridade e aos seus problemas anteriores com o alcoolismo e o consumo de drogas. Os problemas hepáticos de Crosby resultaram de uma longa batalha contra a hepatite C.

Crosby sofria de diabetes tipo 2. Durante um concerto em outubro de 2008, Crosby parecendo muito mais magro do que nos anos anteriores, anunciou ao público que tinha perdido recentemente 25 quilos, como resultado da sua luta contra a doença.

Em fevereiro de 2014, por recomendação do seu médico, Crosby adiou as datas finais da sua turnê solo para se submeter a um cateterismo cardíaco e angiografia, com base nos resultados de um teste de esforço cardíaco de rotina.

Crosby morreu em Santa Ynez, Califórnia, em 18 de janeiro de 2023 aos 81 anos. Acreditando que provavelmente iria morrer em breve, Crosby planejou o seu funeral pelo menos três anos antes da sua morte. Seria realizado no seu rancho de cavalos em Santa Ynez, na esperança de que se reconciliasse com os seus antigos companheiros de banda, The Byrds e CSNY para que estes comparecessem. Um comunicado da sua família referiu que morreu após uma longa luta contra a doença. No entanto, amigos e colegas descreveram a sua morte como repentina, dizendo que Crosby se manteve ativo até ao dia da sua morte, trabalhando nos planos para uma turnê e um novo álbum. Circularam rumores de que a sua morte se devia a complicações da COVID-19 e em 23 de janeiro, a ex-mulher de Stephen Stills, Véronique Sanson, apareceu na televisão francesa e afirmou que Crosby tinha morrido enquanto dormia devido a complicações do vírus.
