Roomful Of Blues é uma big band americana de jump blues e swing revival com sede em Rhode Island. Com uma carreira musical que se estende por mais de 50 anos, eles fizeram turnês pelo mundo e gravaram muitos álbuns. Desde 1967, a mistura de swing, rock and roll, jump blues, boogie - woogie e soul do grupo lhe rendeu cinco indicações ao Grammy e muitos outros prêmios, incluindo sete Blues Music Awards (com uma vitória como Blues Band Of The Year em 2005). Roomful of Blues é atualmente tem oito integrantes liderada pelo guitarrista Chris Vachon e conta com o tenor e saxofonista de longa data Rich Lataille. Em 2010, o cantor Phil Pemberton assumiu as funções vocais, substituindo Dave Howard. Os membros recentes são o trompetista Carl Gerhard, o baixista John Turner e o baterista Chris Rivelli, juntando-se ao barítono e saxofonista tenor de longa data Mark Earley. O tecladista Travis Colby deixou a banda no final de 2012 para continuar sua carreira musical em uma direção diferente e Rusty Scott agora está nos teclados. A banda nasceu em Westerly, Rhode Island, Estados Unidos, em 1967, quando o guitarrista Duke Robillard e o pianista Al Copley formaram uma banda que tocava blues de Chicago raiz e sem barreiras. Eles logo começaram a explorar o swing, o blues saltitante, o R&B e o jazz das décadas de 1940 e 1950, e adicionaram uma seção de sopros (incluindo Rich Lataille) em 1970. Eles estabeleceram uma base de fãs devotados na Nova Inglaterra. Em 1974, se apresentaram com Count Basie e, alguns anos depois, o compositor Doc Pomus os ajudou a conseguir seu primeiro contrato de gravação e produziu sua estreia com o coprodutor Joel Dorn. Turn It Up!, uma mistura de big band swing e rock and roll, trouxe à banda seu maior sucesso de rádio e vendas até o momento. 1997 viu uma rotatividade considerável de pessoal, com a saída de cinco membros; o vocalista/harpista Sugar Ray Norcia, o tecladista Matt McCabe, o baixista "Doc" Grace, o saxofonista barítono Doug "Mr. Low" James e o trombonista Carl Querfurth saíram e foram substituídos, respectivamente, pelo vocalista McKinley "Mac" Odom, pelo tecladista Al Weisman, o baixista Marty Ballou, o saxofonista barítono Kevin May e o trombonista/trombonista baixo John Wolf. Esta edição de Roomful foi lançada There Goes the Neighborhood pela Bullseye Blues, subsidiária da Rounder, em 1998.
Roomful of Blues juntou-se à Alligator Records, com sede em Chicago, com That’s Right! em 2003, seguido por Standing Room Only em 2005, Raisin' A Ruckus em 2008, Hook, Line and Sinker em 2011 e 45 Live! em 2013. Down Beat descreveu Standing Room Only como “jump blues ousado, atrevido e altamente dançante com energia e sofisticação contemporâneas... swings com força total”.
Além de suas gravações de banda, Roomful of Blues frequentemente apoiava músicos como Jimmy Witherspoon, Jimmy McCracklin, Roy Brown, Joe Turner, Eddie “Cleanhead” Vinson e Earl King - estrelas da cena do jump blues dos anos 1940 e 1950. Roomful gravou álbuns com Turner, Vinson e King durante a década de 1980, e todas as três gravações receberam indicações ao Grammy. Eles tocaram com o roqueiro Pat Benatar em seu álbum de blues de 1991, True Love. The Roomful Horns também apoiou muitos outros artistas, incluindo a estrela canadense Colin James em seu álbum duplo de platina (no Canadá), Colin James and the Little Big Band, e Stevie Ray Vaughan em seu álbum Live At Carnegie Hall de 1984 na Epic.

Eles tocaram com estrelas do blues, desde B.B. King, Otis Rush e Stevie Ray Vaughan até os roqueiros Eric Clapton e Carlos Santana. A banda fez turnês praticamente sem parar, percorrendo cidades de costa a costa e viajando para o exterior, como Espanha, Itália, França, Portugal, Suíça, Turquia e Rússia.
Ao longo de quatro décadas de turnês e gravações contínuas, a formação da banda passou por muitas mudanças. Diz-se que mais de 50 músicos já tocaram na banda. Alguns deles alcançaram uma carreira solo de sucesso. Digno de nota, Porky Cohen, cuja carreira começou na década de 1940 e incluiu tocar nas bandas de Charlie Barnet, Artie Shaw, Lucky Millinder, Tommy Dorsey e outros, estava na banda.
